Biden is ahead of Trump by 10% nationally (52%-42%), according to a NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist College poll conducted between September 11 and 16.
Biden is also leading Trump in a handful of battleground states: the former vice president leads by 17% in Maine, 1% in North Carolina, and 9% in the onetime Republican stronghold of Arizona, a New York Times/Siena College poll found Friday.
Still, 50% of likely voters approve of how Trump is handling the economy and believe the president would manage the economy more effectively than Biden, Marist found.
