Human Rights Campaign Endorses Wisconsin Champions for Equality


While lesbian, gay, and bisexual Wisconsites are protected from discrimination under state law, Wisconsin is one of 29 states in the country lacking explicit state-level non-discrimination protections for transgender people.

“Wisconsin is fortunate to have a pro-equality governor in Tony Evers, but progress enacting pro-LGBTQ laws has been stymied by legislative leadership.

While lesbian, gay, and bisexual people are explicitly protected from discrimination in Wisconsin, our transgender siblings are not.

We are proud to endorse 10 champions for LGBTQ equality who have led the fight in their own communities and on the state level to advance equality and defend against attempts to roll back LGBTQ rights.

Between now and November, we are laser focused on mobilizing the more than 675,000 Equality Voters throughout the state of Wisconsin to ensure these and other pro-equality candidates up and down the ballot are elected.”
