This weekend, I had the rewarding (and fun!) job of talking to my fellow Virginia voters about the importance of electing pro-equality candidates, like Danica Roem, to the Virginia General Assembly.
I’m proud to say that this was not the first time I’ve worked with Danica Roem — I volunteered for her campaign back in 2017, pounding the pavement with countless other volunteers to help make sure Roem defeated anti-LGBTQ extremist Del. Bob Marshall. As a Virginia resident, I was inspired by Roem’s enthusiasm and campaign to help hardworking Virginians in her district and the larger community.
Roem ran on a platform of improving key quality-of-life issues in Virginia’s 13th District — traffic, jobs, health care and schools — as well as being committed to making Virginia a more inclusive commonwealth for all, no matter where they come from, what they look like, how they worship or whom they love. She’s kept those promises as a delegate.
