We are unwavering in our commitment to enforcing civil rights in healthcare,” said Roger Severino, director of the Office for Civil Rights at HHS on June 12 as he declared that Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act would no longer prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
The new Trump rule is scheduled to go into effect on Aug. 18.
